The victory in the main class for the CSI2* tour, the Despert Prize, was decided positively in the jump-off for Belgium’s Werner Dierickx. The jump-off of this Grand Prix qualification and also counting for the Longines Rankings, saw 10 combinations battle for the win, but only two managed to stay double clear. Werner Dierickx was the fastest with his SBS gelding Candro Van De Zuuthoeve (Thunder Van De Zuuthoeve x Sir Lui) and directed Mexican jumper Santiago Lambre to the runner-up spot. Lambra rode the eight-year-old KWPN gelding Dingeman (Nintender x Darnels) and finished his round in 45.15 seconds. Britain’s Jessica Mendoza took third place as fastest four-faulter with Zahra II (KWPN, Kashmir Van Schuttershof x Furore) in 38.93.

Werner Dierickx was happy with his victory: “It feels really good to win here and I hope my horse will be fit for Sunday’s Grand Prix.”
