The first CSI4* class of De Kraal International, the EuroHorse Prize was won by Yuri Mansur Guerios (BRA) with the eight-year-old Hannoverian Chirocco (Sir Shutterfly x Landgold). They were the first ones to go in and afterwards it was clear they had set a very strong time. Yuri ws very satisfied with the result: “Yes, I am very happy with this victory. My horse jumped great, we feel good in this kind of warm weather conditions.”

No other rider could beat his round. The 37-year-old Brazilian moved to Belgium and worked with Ludo Philippaerts for a while. Now he lives near Opglabbeek where he rents a stable facility, but soon he will open his own stables.

A good second was British Anna Power and her 10-year-old gelding Chesterfield Z (Zang, Chippendale Z x Sir Caletto). The 32-year-old rider from Bristol clocked 29.53. Anna is in good form. In 2016 she won multiple classes all over Europe. Third place was for Belgium’s Leonie Peeters and Sunny Girl (SWB, Leuthen I x Electro 778). The 19-year-old rider from Bouwel started to compete internationally at a young age. In 2010 she represented Belgium at the EC for Children (5th individual and 4th with the team) and in 2012 she competed in Fontainebleau at the EC for Ponies (8th individual). In 2014 she finished fifth at the EC Juniors and in 2016 she was eighth at the EC Young Riders.  

The numbers 4 to 6 in this class all went to Belgium: Jeroen Appelen (Axana VD Herkkant Z), Jos Verlooy (Balloon) en Vincent Lambrecht (Edesa La Dolce Vita 11).
