Kelly Jochems back on track with Eowan A

Eddy Geysemans designed a demanding course for the first ranking class of the CSI2*, a 1 m 45 Table A with jump off. Out of the 76 starters only 12 jumped a clear round and qualified for the jump off. The Dutch ladies did a better job in Zandhoven then their collegues at the European Championships in Rotterdam because Kelly Jochems won on Eowan A en Kim Emmen finished second on Louis Vuitton vd Wouwerse Veld.

Actually Kevin Jochems, Kelly’s brother, would participate at De Kraal International but because he was injured at the Dublin horse show he was forced to withdraw, and his 22 yr old sister took his place.

Kelly:”A few years ago I participated here so I was super happy that I could take the place of my brother because it is a fantastic show. As for the class of today, there weren’t many clear rounds both in the first round and in the jump off. My brother was here to help me and he advised me to go for it. I didn’t see any other rider in the jump off and just did it my way. I’m very happy with this victory because Eowan A was injured last year. I only jump him again since March this year and brought him back in competition very slowly. In Knokke he jumped his first Ranking class. Tomorrow he has a rest day and on Sunday I will ride him in the Grand Prix.”
